A delegation of Congress leaders today met the Chhattisgarh governor Balramji Das Tondon and demanded CBI probe into the alleged multi-crore scam in the Civil Supplies Corporation.
The scam was recently unearthed by the state anti-corruption bureau.
State Congress chief Bhuepsh Baghel said that both the ACB and Economic Offences Wing come under the ambit of state government, so they can't conduct a fair probe into the scam which involves influential political leaders of ruling BJP and officials.
In the memorandum to the Governor, Congress said that ACB had seized disproportionate assets worth over Rs 7 crore and cash of over Rs 3 crore during simultaneous raids at 28 premises of Civil Supplies Corporation and its officials last month.
