Opposition Congress today demanded the resignation of West Bengal Advocate-General Bimal Chatterjee's "insulting" remarks in the Calcutta High Court that the State Election Commission's demands were like those of a beautiful lady for.

"We demand his resignation for the insulting and uncalled for remark," WBPCC president Pradip Bhattacharjee said.

Bhattacharya said people of the state would not take the AG's remark humorously.

Chatterjee had made the remarks during the hearing on the legal battle between SEC and West Bengal government on the matters relating to the holding of panchayat elections.
