Congress leader Madhusudan Mistry's son passes away

Veteran Congress leader Madhusudan Mistry's son Parikshit passed away following a cardiac arrest, party leaders said today.

Parikshit Mistry, who was in his 40s, passed away last evening at his residence in Gandhinagar, they said, adding he was cremated today.

On learning about the sudden demise of Parikshit Mistry, several political leaders expressed grief either by tweeting or personally calling on Madhusudan Mistry.

"My heartfelt condolences to Sh Madhusudan Mistry ji on the untimely demise of his son Sh Parikshit Mistry. My thoughts and prayers are with his family in this time of grief ...may his soul rest in peace," tweeted Ashok Gehlot, Congress general secretary in-charge for poll-bound Gujarat.
 

Madhusudan Mistry, a Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat and AICC general secretary, was recently appointed chairman of the Gujarat Congress Manifesto Committee.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also condoled the death of Parikshit Mistry.

"Visited veteran Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP form Gujarat Shri Madhusudanbhai Mistry at his residence and expressed my condolences on the unfortunate demise of his son," tweeted Rupani.

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and former Chief Minister Shankersinh Vaghela were prominent among those who were present during the cremation.
