Accusing the West Midnapore Police administration of acting on behalf of the ruling TMC, former state Congress president Manas Bhunia has decided not to take part in Durga Puja celebrations until those accused in the killing of a party activist in Sabang were arrested.

"I have decided to boycott Durga Puja this time. I will not take part in any Durga Puja celebrations this time. This is my sign of protest against the arbitrary functioning of the state police administration and partial attitude while probing the killing of a youth Congress activist few days back," Bhunia told PTI.

He alleged that the police was only arresting those who had lodged the complaint and not arresting the culprits because they were involved with TMC.

Bhunia last month had sat on a five-day fast to protest against the partial attitude in probing the death of a youth Congress activist in August this year.
