Senior Congress leader Saifuddin Soz today said the party lost recently-held Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana due to weak management and asserted that the "Modi wave" was not responsible for the debacle.

"There was no Modi wave, but certain weak management factors within Congress party were responsible for our debacle in the Assembly elections in Maharashtra," Jammu and Kashmir PCC chief Saifuddin Soz told reporters here.

He said, "Had the Congress and NCP gone together in Maharashtra we would have easily formed the government, our management factor was weak there."

Soz alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was indulged into propaganda by making false claims to the people of the country.

"There is lot of propaganda and less of actual work in what he (Narendra Modi) is saying," Soz said.

"They are misleading the people, they are taking the credit for the reduction of petroleum prices wherein reality is that the crude oil prices have fallen globally," Soz said.

He said that "time will come when the people of the country would realise the propaganda and reject it".
