Visalandhra Mahasabha General Secretary Parakala Prabhakar demanded the resignations of central and state ministers as well as MPs belonging to the Congress party, to exert pressure on the UPA and Congress High Command to roll back its decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing a press conference here today, he alleged that instead of exerting pressure on the Congress High Command to roll back its decision, Central ministers and MPs were misleading people who have been agitating for a "united" Andhra Pradesh for the last fifty days.

He urged the people to continue their agitation for a "united" AP and disbelieve statements by political leaders misleading people by claiming that the cabinet note is not ready.

"We are in a dangerous position. Don't believe statements of political leaders including the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, that a cabinet note is not ready. We don't want any statements. We want Samaikhyandhra. We will not compromise on Samaikhyandhra. We want Andhra Pradesh with 23 districts and Hyderabad as the state capital," he said.

He said that the people of Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh would continue their agitation in a peaceful and democratic manner.

He demanded local leaders of various political parties exert pressure on their party chiefs to withdraw letters given earlier to the Congress high command and the UPA in support of a separate Telangana state.
