A press release issued by the DDCC said that the Kalimpong Congress Committee strongly opposes the formation of Siliguri Police commissionerate.
To keep Darjeeling District intact and united, the Committee has strongly demand the formation of the Darjeeling Police commissionerate instead of Siliguri Police commissionerate with the headquarter at Darjeeling comprising Siliguri Sub Division, Darjeeling Sub Division and Kalimpong Sub Division excluding Bhaktinagar Police Station.
