Terming the Congress manifesto as a document "full of lies", Delhi BJP today said the ruling party has repeated the same old promises which it had failed to keep during the past 15 years.

"It's not Congress manifesto but a document full of lies. There are many promises in the manifesto which they have repeated before the previous three assembly elections," said BJP President Vijay Goel.

He raised questions on Congress' promise to get full statehood for Delhi and sought ways from it to attain the commitment this time around.

"Congress has government in Delhi as well as the Centre. They are once again talking about full statehood. Till now they have failed to get the status, so what magic trick do they have now to fulfil this promise?" asked Goel.

"The Congress manifesto exposes its anti-people approach as it does not talk about reduction in power and water tariffs and bringing down prices of essential commodities. No concrete vision or plan about ensuring safety of women is mentioned in it, only lip service has been paid," he said.

"Congress is talking about their Ladli scheme which they have enhanced as Kabil Ladli and given extra Rs 50,000 to college going girls.

"But even the existing Ladli scheme has proved a complete failure. The CAG report clearly says that almost half of the beneficiaries are getting dropped out of this scheme," said Goel.

The BJP leader also slammed AAP for trying to "misguide" people by making promises on aspects, which fall outside the purview of Delhi government.

"AAP's promise for the passage of Jan Lokpal Bill is a fake promise as even Anna Hazare said that it can only be passed by Parliament and not the Delhi Vidhan Sabha.

"AAP promises to give Delhi a full statehood ignoring the fact that it can only by granted by Parliament. AAP seems to have no idea about the federal scheme of India under the Constitution," said Goel.
