The Congress today staged protest here against the increasing cases of crime in Uttar Pradesh and the administration's failure to deal with them.

Congress workers, who assembled at the District Magistrate's office, accused the authorities of failing to keep a check on criminals, who have "no fear of police."

Meanwhile, BSP MP Surendra Singh Nagar today met the farmers who are agitating outside Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) office demanding 64.7 per cent hiked compensation among others.

Extending support to the farmers, Nagar accused the state government of not paying any heed to their plight.
