Holding Congress responsible for unemployment in the country, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that the Narendra Modi government will fulfill its promise to provide jobs to the youth "very soon".

"Congress is responsible for the serious unemployment in the country... Modi government will start the work for providing jobs to the unemployed and fulfill the promise made to the youth at election time," Singh told reporters on Thursday night here.

"Countries which have 70% skilled persons have progressed... It was because of the wrong done by policy makers that when Modi government came to power, only 2.5% youth were skilled," he said.

In a country where 65% of the population comprises of people under 35 years of age, this is a very grim scenario, Singh said.

"It was because of this that Modi government has paid attention on skill and now in 2016-2017 stress will be on employment and will surpass the target promised in the elections," he said.

Attacking the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government, he said BJP had told people that if Nitish-Lalu combine comes to power it will be "jungle raj" and the manner in which criminal cases against MLAs surfaced, his party's "fears have come true".
