The city unit of the principal opposition party in Madhya Pradesh organised a skit ridiculing the beleaguered BJP president and also took potshots at the ruling Shivraj Singh Chouhan government over alleged corruption.
The silent protest was held at Rajwada Chatri area.
Congress also slammed Gadkari for expressing regret over his comment and heaped scorn on the BJP saying, "As Dawood is their ideal the crime in Madhya Pradesh is on the rise".
A number of local Congress leaders participated in the protest.
