The Congress today ruled out an alliance with any party or group to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir as it called for an end to Governor's rule by holding fresh polls in the state.
As far as the position of the House (assembly) is concerned, Congress party does not have any plans (to form government), Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Party (JKPCC) president G A Mir told reporters here.
He was speaking to the media on the sidelines of the party's marathon meeting on the current crisis in the state.
Mir said the party wants an early end to Governor's rule in the state so that a political process is started.
We have already told the Governor that his responsibility is to make the atmosphere conducive and then start a political process, because we believe that Governor's rule should not be permanent, he said.
"The Governor had sought a few weeks' time for discussing the issue with legal experts and we are waiting for that. The state has already suffered a lot and we do not want it to be thrown into more chaos by way of horse-trading or rumour mongering The less time there is the Governor's rule, the better for the people, he said.

Asked about PDP leaders talking against the party and whether Congress will take them into its fold, Mir evaded a direct reply, saying it is the internal matter of that political party. Our stand is that we do not have any designs to damage any political party.
He, however, said we would welcome any newborn party if it wants to follow the Congress's original path.
