The Telangana Congress today alleged the police have falsely implicated party leaders from Warangal in the murder case of a TRS corporator.

Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy has written an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in this regard.

In the letter, Reddy claimed "police have falsely implicated Warangal district Congress president Nayini Rajender Reddy and two other Congress leaders, Pothula Sreeman and Kanuganti Shekhar as "conspirators" in the case".

Reddy said those who committed the offence voluntarily surrendered in the police station and admitted to the crime.

The corporator, Anisetti Murali, was killed on July 13 at Warangal.

"As per media reports, the prime accused in the murder case have described motive behind the crime as previous enmity.

"Despite their confession, it is really shocking that the Warangal police, under political pressure, mentioned the Congress leaders as accused in the murder case," a Congress leader quoted the PCC president as saying in the letter.

He demanded that the chief minister direct the Director General of Police to order a fresh inquiry in the case.
