Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) President Arvinder Singh Lovely today urged the Lt Governor Najeeb Jung to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply in the Muslim-dominated areas of the city during the Ramzan fast.

In a letter to Jung, Singh also requested the LG to set up a control room during the Ramzan fast where people could lodge their complaints on power and water shortages.

Singh noted that peple were fed up with the power and water crises in Delhi, and the power and water situation in the Muslim-dominated areas was very bad.

"The power companies were deliberately imposing power cuts, and there was also no arrangement for drinking water tankers in the unauthorized colonies, dominated by Muslims.

"Due to the inefficiency and carelessness of the Delhi Jal Board, people were not getting tanker facility for drinking water, and as a result, people were being forced to drink unfit water," he said in his letter.

DPCC chief spokesperson Mukesh Sharma said in a statement that the Pradesh Congress has also expressed its concern to the Lt Governor in a telephonic talk with him.
