After Congress' humiliating performance in elections in four states, a senior party leader of Assam today said Congress will do better in the Lok Sabha elections next year after introspecting its mistakes.

"If we consider the elections in four states as semi finals, then we will do good in the final. The UPA will again form government," senior Congress leader and Assam Forest Minister Rockybul Hussain said at a press conference here.

He said there is a need to introspect the activities and any shortcomings will be addressed accordingly.

"We of course need to introspect. If we have done anything wrong, then we need to correct it," Hussain said.

He further said the state government is doing good under the leadership of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.

Talking about rhino population, Hussain said it is increasing even though the animal is being killed at a regular interval by poachers.

The forest department will soon be translocating 10 rhinos to Burachapori-Laokhowa wildlife sanctuary from the Kaziranga National Park, he added.
