Hundreds of Congress workers today staged a 'chakka' jam at the Uttam Nagar Bus Terminal here, protesting against the price hike of cooking gas by the BJP-ruled Central Government and the hike in toll tax by the Delhi Municipal Corportion.
Police had to use water cannons to disperse the demonstrators as hundreds of them under the leadership of DPCC chief spokesperson and senior leader Mukesh Sharma protested in the area.
Police even detained leaders Sharma, Sajjan Kumar and youth Congress leader Tasveer Solanki along with some demonstrators.

Sharma warned that if the hiked prices are not rolled back, Congress may call for a Delhi bandh.
The demonstrators, divided into groups, shouted slogans such as "BJP ka dekho khel---mehanga cylinder, mehanga tel, achhe din aye hai; mehanga cylinder, mehanga tel, mehangi chini laye hai; Narendra Modi hai, hai; BJP hai, hai".
The demonstrators also took out a funeral procession of the BJP-led Central Government.
"The BJP-led Central Government, instead of bringing good days, have brought such days for people which they had not even imagined. So many anti-people decisions one after another have made people's lives miserable," said Sharma.
He said if the price rise was not brought under control, the people would gherao the BJP leaders on the streets.
Congress leaders said that the workers will continue their agitation against the policies of the BJP.
