Congress workers today staged a protest-rally here in Kolkata over unprecendented electricity tariff hike in the city.
"We are here to protest against the unprecendented electricity tariff hike by CESC and the state electricity board. We feel that the increase in rates should be immediately called back," state Congress councillor Prakash Upadhaya said.
The Congress workers also organised a two-day sit-in demonstration outside the state electricity board and a private electricity company's office protesting against the electricity tariff hike.
