Congress yatra welcomed on arrival in Rajasthan

State Congress chief Chandrabhan, after welcoming the yatra members, said every Congressman was committed to follow the ideals of late Rajiv Gandhi.

"It is the duty of every Congressman to follow ideals of late Rajiv Gandhi and fulfill his commitments towards society, this yatra is an attempt in this direction," he said.

AICC secretary and yatra in-charge Sudhakar Reddy said objective of the yatra, that began from Tamil Nadu on August 9, was to emphasise the significance of national integration, communal harmony and secularism.

He also expressed happiness over the "overwhelming response" received by the yatra in Rajasthan.

The yatra, which arrived in the state yesterday, left today for Haryana.
