The Samprokshanam (consecration)of the famous of Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, being renovated at a cost of several crores, would be held by March 2015.
According to the P Dhanapal, Commissioner for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, the renovation work would be completed by the end of this year.
The commissioner inspected various work at the temple late last eveving. Work was progressing simultaneously at different shrines, rajagopurams, and mandapams.

The uniqueness of the work this time is that all the mandapams including the 101-pillar Mandapam opposite to the Holy Chandrapushkarani were being restored to their original glory, demolishing the mud-walls and replacing them with grill gates.
The water wash work would be executed at stone structures and pillars at various mandapams and sannidhis. It would ensure a new look for the structures without causing any adverse impact.
The devotees would be provided addtional amenities in the temple.
Periodical meetings were held for speedy completion of the works. P Jayaraman, Joint Commissioner of HR and CE,was also present during the inspection the works executed at various places in the temple.
