Delhi government today decided to do away with the requirement of consent from pollution controlling body and the MCD trade license, giving relief to small industeries in the national capital.

With this decision, traders will now no longer require to take trade license and consent from municipal corporations and Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), respectively.

Industries Minister Satyendra Jain said that government has decided to do away with requirements of consent from DPCC and MCD trade license for issuance of acknowledgement under the provisions of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED), 2006 Act.

According to him, this practice was a major stumbling block for doing business in the national capital since this Act came into force.

Jain also said that earlier the requirement of DPCC consent and MCD Trade License detered a large number of traders to seek acknowledgement under the MEMSD Act.

Requirement of licenses led to delay, harassment and increase in transaction cost in doing business in the city, the minister said.

In its manifesto, Aam Aadmi Party had promised that no raid will be carried out on any trader and all difficulties will also be removed in doing business if it came to power.
