Consortium of banks to lend Rs 11,400 cr for Kaleswaram proj

A consortium of banks would provide a loan of Rs 11,400 crore to the second phase of Kaleswaram irrigation project in Telangana.

A loan agreement to the effect was clinched in the presence of Chief Secretary S P Singh at the Secretariat today, a state government release said.

The second phase of Kaleswaram irrigation project required funds to the tune of Rs 34,440.96 crore and the consortium of banks, led by Punjab National Bank, agreed to provide a loan of 11,400 crore, the release quoted the Chief Secretary as saying.
