Constable arrested for accepting bribe

A beat constable posted at Anta police station of Baran district has been arrested by a team of Anti Corruption Bureau for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1000.

Beat constable Mahandra Kumar Meena, posted at Anta police station of Baran district, was arrested yesterday for accepting a bribe of Rs 1000, Circle Inspector ACB, Baran, Sallauiddin Siddique said.

The constable had demanded Rs 2000 from Shyambehari Khandelwal, a resident of Batawdi village, for sorting out a case against him, Siddique said, adding Khandelwal complained about the matter to ACB this Wednesday.

The accused constable would be produced before the ACB court in Kota today, Siddique said.
 

Ramnathibai, a resident of Batawdi village had lodged a complaint in Anta police station on November 17 against Shyambehari Khandelwal for misbehaving and abusing her. Beat constable Mahandra Kumar Meena was the investigation officer in the matter.
