A police constable was killed when he was mowed down by a speeding truck in north-west Delhi's Model Town area late last night, police said.
Arjinder, posted at the Bharat Nagar police station, was heading to the police station on his scooty when a speeding truck hit him from behind.
The impact was so strong that the scooty skid for more than 500 metres and the truck ran over him. He died on the spot, a police official said, adding that the truck driver, Rinku (35), was arrested.
A case of rash and negligent driving causing death has been registered at Model Town police station and the body has been sent for post mortem, police said.
