Andhra Pradesh Minister for Excise, Backward Caste Welfare and Handlooms K Ravindra said here today that construction of the Machilipatnam Port would begin soon.
Addressing a press conference here today, he said that farmers and villagers would be given a better compensation package.
He appealed to farmers and villagers not to believe negative propaganda made by opposition parties.
Meanwhile, Krishna District Collector A Babu began consultations farmers and villagers on the port project.
He requested villagers to come forward and co-operate with the authorities, assuring that no farmer would suffer due to land acquisition.
The port would benefit people at large and help in the development of the Krishna district, he said.
