Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh's arguments that construction of the memorial will disturb peace in the state are unsustainable, Dal Khalsa head H S Dhami said here.

Amarinder is raising the issue for vested political interests, he said adding there is no threat to peace in Punjab.

Raising the bogey of revival of militancy in Punjab is misplaced, Dhami said.

He said Lt Gen (retd) K S Brar linking of the attack on him in London to construction of the memorial was a "figment of his own imagination".

Brar, the Operation Blue Star veteran, suffered injuries in the attack.

He had said the attack on him was an attempt to assassinate him by "pro-Khalistan elements" for his role in the Operation Blue star to flush out terrorists holed up in Golden Temple.
