To expedite the construction of roads in calamity-hit areas of Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna today said he would request Minister of Road Transport and Highways to handover the project, which is presently under Border Roads Organisation (BRO), to the state.
Bahuguna said that the construction of roads was being carried out at a slow pace and he would take up the issue with Oscar Fernandes - Minister of Road Transport and Highways.
The Chief Minister told reporters here that he would meet Fernandes in the second week of December in Delhi and make a request to hand over the project to the state government.
A request would also be made to directly allot the construction amount to the state government to speed up the project and complete it at the earliest.
