Public Works Department (PWD) has extended the deadline for under-construction Barapullah phase-3 (Sarai Kalen Khan-Mayur Vihar-1) by around five months.

According to officials, due to land dispute, the 10 km-long signal-free elevated corridor between south and east Delhi will not be completed before May, 2018 though the earlier deadline was October, 2017.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia may hold a meeting with PWD officials to resolve the dispute coming in the way of construction of Barapullah Phase-3 which is expected to reduce travel time by an hour.

Once the corridor is completed, it will also decongest the Ring Road and NH-24 as motorists will get a signal free ride from Mayur Vihar to INA. It is being constructed at a cost of Rs 964 crore.
