A 32-year-old worker died after a portion of the roof of an under construction building caved in near Pattukottai here, police said today.
The incident occurred last evening when the victim Murugesan, from Manganankadu village, was working on the second floor of the building, which suddenly collapsed trapping him beneath it.
He sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot, they said.
