: Consul General of Japan in Chennai, Kojiro Uchiyama, met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy here on Monday and discussed the prospects of establishing industries in the state and strengthening bilateral relations.
A release from the Chief Ministers Office said the Consul General invited the Chief Minister to visit Japan.
The Chief Minister, according to the release, informed the Japanese official about his governments steps to ensure transparent governance by rooting out corruption.
Reduction in cost of land, water and electricity tariffs were other measures that were aimed at boosting industrial growth in the state, he added.
The new AP Investment Promotion and Monitoring Act would fully support industries from investment to production stages.

He also mentioned about the new legislation aimed at ensuring 75 per cent jobs in industries for local youth and establishment of skill development centres for making them industry-fit.
The Chief Minister also said his government was ready to allocate land for automobile, electronics and pharmaceutical industries.
He requested the Consul General to look into the possibility of investing in establishment of cold storages, warehouses, agri labs and other infrastructure.
The Consul General told the Chief Minister that the Japanese Agriculture Ministry was already analysing the chances of increasing food production and opportunities in the fisheries industry through the Japanese Information and Research Institute in the state, the release added.
