The Food, Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department of Odisha today seized more than 20 domestic LPG cylinders from at least five hotels here, officials said.
All the hotels were allegedly using domestic LPG cylinders instead of commercial cooking gas, officials said.
During raids, at least 21 domestic LPG cylinders were seized from the five hotels by the enforcement wing of the department, said Assistant Civil Supplies Officer (ACSO), Sushant Kumar Hota.

The department authorities directed the enforcement wing to conduct raids across hotels in the city after they got a tip-off, he said.
This was done to stop the illegal practice of using domestic LPG cylinders by the hoteliers, he said.
Hota said a case was registered against the hoteliers for using domestic LPG instead of commercial cooking gas.
