President of the Maharashtra State Consumers' Welfare Advisory Committee Suryakant Gawali said here today that the Consumer Protection Act must be strenghthened and its machinery at the taluka level must also be improved to ensure that consumers get justice.
Addressing a meeting of district government officials including district supply officers, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd' executive engineer and tehsildars at the collector's office, he said that the Committee is thinking about appointing consumer representatives to speed-up services for consumers at the government level, according to a state government release issued here.
Gawali also visited the Zilla Grahak Manch centre and supervised work of the organisation, the release said.
