Operations at Vallarpadam container terminal here will resume soon as the container truck crew today ended their week-long strike.

As per the agreement reached at a meeting convened by the Labour Commissioner, the container truck crew will be given a fair hike in their wages, Cochin Port Trust officials said here.

The indefinite strike by Trade Union Coordination Committee (TUCC) had seriously impacted operations at the Vallarpadam Container Terminal, it said.

The strike was called by container truck crew, demanding a dedicated parking space near the terminal, fair wage implementation and revision of existing wages.

Due to strike nearly 9,000 containers were stuck inside the terminal, industry bodies said.
