The Gujarat High Court today issued a contempt of court notice to former state Agriculture and Law Minister Dilip Sanghani for allegedly making objectionable remarks against the judiciary.

A division bench of Justices M R Shah and R P Dholaria issued the notice to Sanghani and scheduled the next hearing for April 17.

In July 2012 a petition was filed by Rajendra Mistry seeking contempt of court proceedings against Sanghani.

It alleged Sanghani had made some derogatory remarks against the judiciary at a public function on June 2, 2012 over the issue of the transfer of government officers.

Sanghani was defeated in 2012 assembly election from Amreli constituecy by Congress's Paresh Dhanani.
