A senior Congress leader asserted any tie-up with the JMM at helm was not acceptable in the coming assembly polls in Jharkhand.

Former Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) President, Pradip Kumar Balmuchu said Congress did not have the tradition to project any Chief Ministerial candidate and contesting the forthcoming assembly election under JMM was not acceptable.

A Rajya Sabha Member, Balmuchu expressed apprehension that Congress will have to pay dearly if it contested under the leadership of JMM.

Balmuchu assured the party workers to take up the issue with the high command soon.

Asked about the ongoing talks in regard with the poll alliance and seat sharing in Jharkhand, Balmuchu said it was in the advanced stage and could be announced soon.

Balmuchu expressed confidence that some like-minded parties would be joining the alliance, besides JMM, RJD.

About the performance of the 14-month-old Hemant Soren headed coalition government in which Congress was a major ally, Balamuchu claimed that the opposition parties were upset over the performance of the state government during the last quarter.
