India today said continued terrorism emanating from Pakistan and territories under its control remains a core concern to it and demanded it must show determined action to dismantle the terrorist networks, organizations and infrastructure.
It also asked Pakistan to show tangible movements on bringing those responsible for the Mumbai terrorist attack in November 2008 to justice quickly.
In a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs Preneet Kaur also said government welcomed the publicly-articulated commitment by the newly-elected Prime Minister of Pakistan to seek a relationship with India defined by peace, friendship and cooperation.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called his Pakistani counterpart on May 12, 2013 and sent his Special Envoy to Lahore on May 27, 2013, she said, adding subsequently, the Prime Minister also received the Pakistan Prime Minister's Special Envoy in New Delhi on July 5, 2013.
"Continued terrorism emanating from Pakistan and territories under its control remains a core concern for us," she said while noting that representation from social organizations are received by the government from time to time suggesting action against Pakistan for fermenting terrorism against India, including declaring Pakistan a terrorist state.
Kaur also asserted India was committed to resolving all outstanding issues with Pakistan through a peaceful bilateral dialogue in an environment free from violence and terror and it has been conveyed to Sharif also.
"In this regard, upholding the sanctity of the Line of Control, which is the most important confidence-building measure between the two countries, is vital. Unprovoked incidents on the Line of Control by the Pakistan Army naturally will have consequences for our bilateral ties," she said.
The remarks come in the backdrop of series of ceasefire violations by Pakistan Army along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.
However, Pakistan Foreign Office had summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner in Islamabad on Monday to protest "ceasefire violations" by the BSF along the LoC, claiming it resulted in the death of a civilians at Rawalakot in PoK.
