Mizoram Police Special Narcotics Cell personnel seized 14,000 tablets of the dreaded Methamphetamine and arrested two persons, including a Myanmarese national in Aizawl yesterday, Superintendent of Police, CID (Crime) Lallianmawia said.
Lallianmawia said that Lalrinzuala (43) of Zarkawt in Aizawl and Khawlhmingthanga (53) of Tamu in Myanmar were arrested in this connection.
The contraband, smuggled from Myanmar through the porous 404-km-long Mizoram-Myanmar international border was worth around Rs 42 lakh, he said.
The two accused were remanded and booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988, he added.
