Contraband seized in J&K

Police today recovered five boxes of a narcotic substance from a truck in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

On a tip off, police raided fruit mandi at Sopore township, 50 km from here, and searched a truck parked there, a police spokesperson said, adding that five boxes of 'fukki', a narcotic substance, was recovered from it.

The driver of the truck fled from the spot.

A case under NDPS Act has been registered and investigations are on, the spokesperson said.
