N Amarjit (37) was abducted on August 21 but his family members lodged a complaint with the police only yesterday.
Family members said the kidnappers had asked them not to lodge complaint with the police and demanded Rs 10 lakh for his safe release.
The family of Amarjit said he was a small time contractor and it was next to impossible for them to give such a big amount. They requested the kidnappers to free the contractor safely.
