Contractor's employees robbed of Rs 10 lakh in Ghaziabad

Two employees of a contractor were today robbed of Rs 10 lakh allegedly by a gang of five bike-borne men in Modi Nagar area here, police said.

The incident took place when cashier Gaurav and car driver Satyendra, working for contractor Ram Kumar Gupta, were going to bank for a transaction following which they were intercepted by five bike-borne miscreants who allegedly fired gunshots at Gaurav, and snatched the briefcase containing Rs 10 lakh cash, SHO Deepak Sharma said.

Gaurav, who sustained a bullet injury on his thigh, was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Upon getting information, police reached the site of the crime and viewed the CCTV footage in which the faces of robbers are identifiable which will help the police in nabbing the culprits.
 

An FIR has been registered and investigations are on, the SHO added.
