As per eyewitness account, 23-year-old Santosh Kumar Singh allegedly shot himself by a service revolver and died on the spot at the contractor's house, SP Anup Mathew told reporters here.
Santosh, who was posted as the bodyguard of contractor Ranjit Kumar Singh, hailed from Bhojpur in Bihar and was to get married on June 14, he said.
Officer-bearers of the Palamau District Police Association demanded an inquiry into the death.
