Control room set up in Punjab for residents stranded in Nepal

Punjab government has set up a special control room at Punjab Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh for helping the people from state affected by earthquake in Nepal.

The Control Room in Punjab Civil Secretariat Chandigarh has been set up on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal said.

The numbers to the control room are 0172-2740397 and 0172-2740859 besides fax number 0172-2740936 to facilitate the residents of Punjab, who have been stuck in earthquake in the Himalayan country.

The Punjab government would tie up with the Ministry of External Affairs to dispatch any sort of relief material required in Nepal, Kaushal said.
 

He further said that that Punjabis landing at Delhi Airport were being rendered assistance by the Punjab government representatives at the airport and at Punjab Bhawan in New Delhi.
