A 65-year-old convict, lodged in Modern Jail Faridkot, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ventilation grill in his barrack, officials said today.
The incident took place last night, they said, adding that the deceased was identified as Gurjain Singh.
He was serving life imprisonment in a murder case, the police added.
