Convicted police constable escapes judicial custody

Police constable Ravinder, along with two other accused, was convicted yesterday of killing a man in Harsoli village of Shahpur district, prosecution sources said here today.

The court had reserved judgement on awarding of the quantum of sentence for February 2.

Ravinder escaped from court when he was being taken into judicial custody after the hearing, police said.

Additional District Sessions Judge Lokender Rathi has issued a non bailable warrant against him and directed police to produce him before the court on February 2.

Ravinder, who was then a police constable posted in Ghaziabad, was held guilty in the case along with his father Moher Singh who is a retired police sub inspector and one Sanjeev.
