Cool morning in Delhi, fog hits rail traffic

Delhiites woke up to a cool morning today with the minimum temperature settling at 7.7 degrees Celsius, even as poor visibility affected rail traffic leading to cancellation of four trains.

A total of 107 north-bound trains were running late by several hours, ranging between two to six hours, while 36 trains were rescheduled due to dense fog.

However, the flight operation was normal as per the Delhi Airport website.

The Safdarjung observatory recorded visibility at 400 metres at 8.30 AM while at the Palam observatory, it was recorded at 500 meters.

The humidity level recorded till 8.30 AM was 95 per cent.
 

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted clear skies throughout the day.

"The skies will remain clear and maximum temperature is expected to settle at 25 degree Celsius," said an official.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature settled at 23.9 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded at 8.7 degrees.
