Jennifer Lawrence-Bradley Cooper starrer 'Serena' will open the 16th Mumbai International Film Festival.

The film, directed by Susanne Bier Serena, was filmed over

Eight weeks on location in and around Prague, the Czech Republic during the spring of 2012.

Cooper and Lawrence reunited after their critically acclaimed performances in 'Silver Linings Playbook' and 'American Hustle'.

The story, set at the end of 1920s, follows George and Serena Pemberton, love-struck newly-weds who begin to build a timber empire.

Serena soon proves herself to be equal to any man: overseeing loggers, hunting rattle-snakes, even saving a man's life in the wilderness. With power and influence now in their hands, the Pembertons refuse to let anyone stand in the way of their inflated love and ambitions.

However, once Serena discovers George's hidden past and faces an unchangeable fate of her own, the Pemberton's passionate marriage begins to unravel.

The 16th edition of the festival, organized by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) will be held from 14-21 October 2014. The festival has a lineup of about 185 films from over 65 countries.
