The West Bengal Cooperation department will soon lauch a scheme to help cooperatives to purchase produce directly from farmers and sell them to people.
Under the Mobile Sufala scheme the cooperatives in the state would be allowed to purchase produce directly from the farmers and then they would sell them to customers, Principal secretary in the Cooperation department M V Rao said here.
The Principal secretary said a new scheme would also be launched under which farmers will be able to hire farm equipment and tools from cooperatives at nominal rates.
Rao also launched a scheme of the Cooperative bank here under which customers of the bank would be able to pay electricity bills, taxes and transfer money using feature mobile phones.
