Cop accused in murder case moves surrender application

A policeman, accused in the murder of a class eight student in the state capital, today moved a surrender application before a local court.

The application was moved before the chief judicial magistrate Pramod Kumar Tyagi on behalf of Inspector Sanjay Rai, requesting that he wanted to surrender before the court.

The court, while calling report from the concerned police station, fixed June 20 as the next date of hearing.

On May 29, some persons entered a house in Indiranagar colony and shot dead Maaz Mohammad.

Two contract killers Ajit Rai and Rahul Rai, who were arrested by later by police, accused Rai of giving them contract.
 

Police was searching for the accused, who was absconding since then in Deoria, Azamgarh, Allahabad and Varanasi.
