A police sub inspector in the district has accused a former MLA of threatening him on phone yesterday.
Jaldeep Singh, SHO of Sarmathura police station, alleged that former MLA Abdul Sageer Khan called him yesterday and threatened to "blacken his face" over some issue.
The officer mentioned this in complaint and reported the matter to senior officials.
He said that some elements were not happy with him as he controlled criminal activities in the area during the last two months.
When contacted, the former BJP MLA denied the allegations and said he had called the officer in connection with a case and did not threaten him.
Khan said some locals had asked him about misbehavior by the SHO, so he called the SHO asking him to be "generous".
