A police head constable and an agent was today arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe Rs 9,000 at Mahagaon town in the district.
The accused Vishnu Korde (45) had demanded the bribe from the complainant for not arresting the latter's relatives in connection with a criminal case registered against them at Mahagaon police station, Deputy Superintendent of Police Satish Deshmukh said.
The complainant then approached the ACB, which laid a trap and arrested Korde and his agent Vasant Ghodekar (58) while accepting the bribe money from the complainant.
Further investigation is on.
