A Punjab police head constable has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the drug trade, police said today.
The accused, Head Constable Sher Singh who was posted at Mamdot police station, was arrested last evening from cantonment bus stand following a tip-off, SSP Ferozepur Hardyal Singh Mann told reporters here.
The accused allegedly used to supply heroin to his clients, he said.

On May 18, the Anti-Narcotics Cell of the district police had nabbed one Sukhwinder Singh alias Gogi, a resident of village Rahime Ke Uthar in Mamdot, and allegedly recovered 50 gram heroin from him.
During interrogation it came to fore that he purchased the heroin from Sher Singh, following which the head constable was nabbed, the SSP said.
An amount of Rs 50,000 was also recovered from Sher Singh's possession and later, another sum of Rs 3.7 lakh was recovered from his house, the SSP said, adding further investigation into the case was on.
Meanwhile, Sukhwinder was bookedunder the provisions of the NDPS Act.
